I loved that feeling of anticipation in the morning that something big is about to happen. When I first saw Alex before the ceremony and asked him how he felt, he said “I just want to see her”. And when I said that to Laura, we needed some tissues)) It was a perfect day of celebrating their love for each other and saying their vows. Sun shone and it couldn’t be more beautiful))

- discovering foodie places in London with my husband. We’ve been living in London for 3 years and we do love our food. I think in the last 3 months we’ve actually been to more places than in the last 3 years)) It’s been great! There is almost too much choice! Sometimes it took us about an hour just to decide where to go next

- with the weather finally improving I started to get outside in my runners for what I call ‘fast walks’ (I’m not a big fan of running).

- it’s been lovely to finally feel some warmth, see everything blossoming and trees getting greener and greener. Spring is my favourite time of the year, and it’s been so cold until only a couple of weeks ago, that I don’t want it to end!

- since I started wedding photography I discovered a new passion – flowers. Seeing the bride’s bouquet and all the flower arrangements is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day)) Recently I bought this amazing book called The Flower Recipe, which basically shows you how to do your own pretty arrangements, how many flowers you will need for them, how to place them etc. If nothing else it’s just so beautiful to look at if you love flowers! I can’t wait to have my own garden and grow some gorgeous blooms))

- celebrating my birthday. I love birthdays! I used to be so excited about my own or my best friend’s day when we were in school. I think I’m getting to the age now when I don’t necessarily feel all ecstatic about it, and going all out to celebrate. This year we just went out for dinner and had a nice relaxing evening

Women are their own worst beauty critics. The stats on their page say only 4% of women consider themselves beautiful. As a photographer who works with people I hear it all the time “I don’t look good”, “I hate my photo been taken”, “This is not my good side” etc.  Our self-perception is so different from what others see in us and our appearance. We have a very distorted view of ourselves. Including myself. I felt very insecure about how I looked when I was a teenager. I was very skinny, tall, and looked very awkward. I partly still see myself this way (although I’m far from being skinny now!). I think one of my ears is slightly higher than the other one, my teeth are all over the place and I could go on and on. With time I think I’ve managed to let these judgemental thoughts go. I don’t think I’m beautiful or pretty, or anything. I guess I just don’t think about it!

As a photographer I see people differently from how they see themselves. I see so much beauty when my couples open up in front of my camera. Happiness shows on the outside and then people just glow Some say “You managed to make us look good”. But I didn’t. It’s all you. I just managed to capture that moment in time, the real beautiful you, when you are not afraid and you let go.
